October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Awareness events began with “Day of Unity” by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence in October 1981. The day became a week of activities then a month of activities in 1987.
This month has three goals:
1. mourn those who have died from domestic violence
2. celebrate those who have survived
3. connect those who work to end domestic violence.
Promote awareness and show your support by attending events, donating, and using your Kup Kaps and Kup Kollars around your community!
