21st Annual AIDS Walk Colorado in Denver
Begun in 1987, AIDS Walk Colorado is the largest AIDS fundraiser in the Rocky Mountains with over 7000 participants a year. Presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, AIDS Walk benefits Colorado AIDS Project and fundraising teams of 30 AIDS service and education organizations.
The AIDS Walk begins and ends in Denver's beautiful Cheesman Park. After the opening ceremonies, the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) walk begins at 10:30 a.m.
Colleen walked again this year. She used a red ribbon AIDS Kup Kollar (cup wrap) on her drink bottle to keep her water cold as she walked with the others along the streets of Denver!
When the walkers returned to Cheesman Park, they enjoyed live local music, great food, and the new Beer Garden! All the proceeds from the Beer Garden benefited AIDS Walk Colorado.
