Pumpkin Chai Tea Latte recipe

By Guest Blogger, Irene Luckett

It's the season for coffee pumpkin lattes but what do Tea Lovers drink with pumpkin? Pumpkin Chai Tea Latte is a quick easy recipe by blogger, Maya, who sold her worldly goods to move from California to Alaska to begin a new lifestyle adventure.

I made a tea latte to try Maya's recipe using Orgeon Chai the Orginial and canned Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin (all natural * no preservatives). The first sip was like drinking a pumpkin pie!

You can leave the pumpkin puree in the pan or strain it out before pouring. I left it in. It began to settle to the bottom of my mug which gave me two choices. Either stir the latte for a stronger pumpkin taste or drink the chai milk first and spoon the puree like a pudding. I stirred!

I suggest making a large pitcher for drop in friends or to quickly heat a mug in the evenings. It makes a great liquid dessert!

Pumpkin Chai Tea Latte by Alaska from Scratch

Yields: 1-2 servings

1 cup prepared, sweetened chai tea concentrate (like Oregon Chai or Tazo)

1 cup milk

1/4 cup pumpkin puree

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Add the chai concentrate, milk, pumpkin puree, and vanilla to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture up until it just reaches a simmer, whisking as you go. Taste for sweetness level, adding more milk if needed. (You can strain the pumpkin puree out at this point, if you prefer. I leave it in). Pour the latte into mugs and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve immediately while steaming and frothy.
